History
Child Safety House Calls was founded in 2007 by two pediatric emergency medicine physicians. After years of treating acutely injured children, Dr. James M. Schmidt and Dr. Joel M. Clingenpeel committed to reducing the number of preventable injuries. As experienced clinicians, researchers, and educators, they realized the need to take their prevention efforts into individual homes and businesses. Drs. Schmidt and Clingenpeel created Child Safety House Calls, the nation's first pediatrician-founded child safety company, to provide individualized expert advice and comprehensive childproofing services. In addition, the organization promotes child safety education and advocacy on the local, state, and national level.
