We understand that keeping
babies and young children safe is a full-time job. Our experience
comes from being fathers of young families, and also being
physicians with more than 10 years of combined experience
in the Pediatric Emergency Room of a leading children’s
hospital in Hampton Roads, Va., where we continue to work.
As emergency pediatric professionals,
we see daily, first-hand, the results of inadequate childproofing
which causes falls, burns, poisoning, drowning, choking
and strangulation, and more. A few years ago it dawned on
us that we could slow the steady stream of babies and young
children to emergency rooms by sharing our child safety
knowledge with mothers, testing and selling child safety
products that work well, and conducting child safety home
consultations.
We have been thrilled by
our success, and know from our mothers' feedback that we've
helped them keep their babies and children safer.
We encourage you to read
through our website where you'll find important child safety
education and awareness information, as well as child safety
products that we research, evaluate and sell on this website.
The best time to begin childproofing
your home is when your baby is 4 to 6 months old -- BEFORE
your child starts crawling. That means child safety gates,
child proof latches, child proof drawers and more are needed
to turn your home into a "yes" environment that
will allow your child to play and explore, while giving
you peace of mind. Read more
here.
If you are looking for another competitive
edge in the marketplace, consider childproofing your business
and receiving our Seal of Approval that verifies it.

As pediatricians, we know our fellow
doctors are consistently doing what's best for their patients
and parents. But one area has emerged where we think
our pediatric emergency room experience can help you better
serve your patients. Read
more here.
Amazingly, most of the child injuries
we treat in the emergency room were preventable and occurred
in homes the parents considered fully childproofed. It is
important to understand that basic childproofing is easy,
but proper, effective childproofing takes experience, research,
and time. We gladly take that burden off your shoulders
by sharing our knowledge with you through our Childproofing
Tips here.
Top 5 Childproofing Myths
1. I watch my child closely, so my
childproofing needs are minimal.
2. I’ve taught my child
to stay away from the stove, oven, electrical outlets, stairs,
fireplace, etc.
3. Childproofing is simple.
4. Childproofed homes are
ugly and look like prisons.
5. I will spend less money
if I childproof on my own.
